Food crop growing
Agricultural production is based primarily on peasant cultivation, some of the crops grown in the area include maize, bananas (Matooke), beans, mangoes, G.nuts due to the rich soils in the area grown both for consumption and for sale.
The people of Buikwe district also have livestock, they rare animals that is cattle, sheep, goats, poultry (chicken)
Buikwe posses a favorable climate for economic development, the economic infrastructure, includes subsistence production that is cultivation and farming practiced in this area.
The area has a flourishing tourism industry with rivers like river Sezibwa with the famous Rippo falls, the river Nile and the Mabira forest which attract many tourists who visit Uganda.
